Compact Fluorescent Pin Base Illustrations Many compact fluorescent bulbs are manufactured with pin bases that plug in (rather than screw in) to their sockets. Below are illustrated the most common types of pin bases; each type has a corresponding name (for example, "G24q-1"). Pin-base sockets accept only the exact base type for which they were designed (for example, "G24q-2" sockets accept only "G24q-2"-based bulbs). The most frequently used pin base CFLs are listed in our Pin Base CFLs department; and any pin base CFLs not listed in the store can be ordered via phone or e-mail.
